County Commissioners

The first commissioners of Trinity County were appointed by the Third Legislature State of Texas Chapter CLX, and were instructed to locate and establish the county seat.  These original commissions were Jesse James, Benjamin B. Ellis, Solomon Adams, James Marsh, Henry Ward, John Gallion and M. Duke Hornsby.  These were appointed in February 1850 and served until elections in August of that year.  Elected commissioners since 1850 have been John C.
