BRANDIN
I am seeking further information on Jo Ann Day Brandin who I find in Orange Co's
Hillcrest Cemetery. She was born 9/11 1944 to John Cefus Day and Virginia Mauline
White Day and passed away 7/17 1995. John Cefus was the grandson of my grt gf John
Ceyfus Day and I'm just now finding information on this line. I do not have a husband's
name for Jo Ann nor know if she had children survive her. Could anyone help me with
further information on my Day line. I think John Cefus went to Orange Co prior to going
into WW II where he died in Okinawa in 1945.
Thank you,
Sandra

I would like to connect with the descendants of Robert B. Russell and Levinia Brownrigg, who were married in San Augustine County, Texas June 1, 1841. I am interested in finding family photos, descendants and family stories.
My husband descends from her brother, Junius B. Brownrigg. He was the son of Dr. George B. Brownrigg, born in Edgecomb Co NC and settled in San Augustine Co Texas before 1833. I have information on his ancestors back into the 1600's in England and Ireland.
I would love to exchange information.

DAVIS - JORDAN - GLOVER - ROWE - STANTON - WERMUTH/RINKER
As I am a decendant of Josiah Jordan and Sarah Glover as well as Alexander Davis' son Capt. Tom J. Davis. I need some help. I live in Arkansas, Southern SE part to be exact (about 35 miles to Louisiana and 35 miles to the Mississippi River, as crows fly.) My Great Grandmother was Dura Davis, daughter of Thomas Jefferson Davis and Helen Marr Jorden / Jordan. She married a Texas Ranger, William George Stanton, while he was there setting up a Texas Ranger Band concert in the park. Apparently it was close to the Davis home (prior to the removal of the home, per W. T. Block) Believe he had located a Richard Stanton, believed to be his father in the SE area of Texas. Formally married, Capt. Tom didn't want her to marry George, but love won out, and they had their first 5 children there in Orange, (well one was on the Dura, and registered at Orange, for William Ernest Stanton, my Grandfather, a former Merchant Marine). Later, they moved to Houston, and on to Compton California. The last child of this union Thomas Jefferson Stanton, just died in December of 2003, but in age had lost most of his memory, and therefore could not help. My father William David Stanton was born in Compton, the son of William Ernest (Bill) Stanton and Edith Freida Wermuth-Rinker later moved into the Oregon State, where he also kept his feet wet as he built, and refitted ships, vessels and boats. He met my mother Shirley Ann Rowe and was married in Coquille, Coos County, Oregon then moved back to California and on to Miami, Florida, where I was born. My father was tragically killed between Marathon Key and Key West Nov 23, 1960 while riding his motorcyle with a friend on board. They were stuck behind by a drunken Sailor in a stationwagon, where my father hit his head on the curb and was instantly killed. My mother and I were in Oregon at the time and she had just given birth to their second child Cathy Arlene Stanton the prior month before his death.
I give you this piece of history only for you to understand that I was not able to grow up within close bounds of my paternal family: Stanton, Davis, Jordan and circumstances that placed me where I am and how I ended up in Arkansas is even a longer story than the previous, needless to say, I would love to know Orange better. And especially, if there are any of these family decendant's living.
Kindly submitted,
Carolann Stanton-Taylor St. John
