Marker to Honor Gatemouth Brown
Orange County Commissioner's Monday approved $1,500 to
erect a marker at the Hollywood Cemetery
on Simmons Drive to honor Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown. Brown’s records
include titles such as, "Rock My Blues Away," "Dirty Work at the Crossroads"
and Bogalusa Boogie man. Brown’s casket was unearthed by hurricane Ike’s
floodwater. Brown has since been reburied although there is no gravestone
at the site. The family is currently working to place a grave marker.
