1860 Census

The first year a census was taken in Orange County, Texas was 1860.  Prior to that time, the land comprising Orange County was a portion of Jefferson County.

There were 248 families enumerated.

The county was divided into three precincts:

  Precinct No. 1 - Orange Post Office, including the Town of Orange
